Sudan asks to host coming meetings of Arab foreign ministers

Originally published

Informed sources in the Arab League said that Sudan demanded moving the meetings of the 114th session of the Arab foreign ministers, scheduled for September, from Cairo to Khartoum.

The sources said the Arab League general trusteeship is taking its decision concerning the Sudanese demand in light of the consultations that resulted in meeting of the League's council that is being held today on level of the permanent delegates and ambassadors, saying that the Sudanese demand aims at mobilizing Arab efforts to back the initiatives raised to achieve Sudanese national rapport.

The Sudanese demand comes amid current exchanges of ideas among the Arab states on convening the coming sessions of the Arab foreign ministers council in the Arab capitals which confront national problems or external threats after success of the recent session in Beirut in enhancing Arab solidarity against Israeli threats.
