Moussa and the Arab foreign ministers meeting in Beirut
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa has described the decisions taken by the Arab foreign ministers in Beirut as embodying a unified and supportive Arab stand towards Lebanon in confrontation of Israeli aggression.
In statements issued in Cairo on Monday Moussa criticized the Israeli reactions to the decisions of the Arab League council and described these reactions as extremist and revealing Israel's non-credibility in reviving the peace process.
The Egyptian foreign minister stressed the Arab public's rejection of normalization with Israel before its complete withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories.
Moussa asserted the need to strengthen the Arab position in confrontation of the negative Israeli policy concerning the peace process.
He added that the coming phase will witness intensive contacts and consultations between Syria and Egypt before the visit of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to Washington in order to back the Syrian stand that provides for Israel's complete withdrawal from the Golan to the June 4, 1967 border lines.
Moussa called on the US to take a firm stand against the Israeli practices which threaten of collapse in the Middle East peace process.
