Kharazi will not take part in meeting of Arab foreign ministers

Originally published

Well-informed sources in Tehran said on Wednesday that Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi will not take part in the ministerial meeting of the Arab foreign ministers, due to be held in Beirut next Saturday.

The sources explained that it is expected that the Iranian president, in his capacity as chairman of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, will delegate OIC Secretary General Azzedine Laraki to attend the meeting, representing the OIC.

The sources said they believe that Iran's non-participation in this meeting came as a result of American and European pressures placed on certain Arab states which are subjugated to the US hegemony in order to disapprove Iran's participation.
