Yemeni message to Abdul Meguid

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid received a written message from Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdul Qader Bajmal that assures Yemen's readiness to coordinate between the Yemeni initiative concerning a mechanism, of the systematic periodic convening of the Arab summit and his suggestions which contribute to crystallizing joint Arab work.

Ahmed Lokman, the Yemeni ambassador in Cairo, said following his meeting with Abdul Meguid that, "Yemen supports convening the league's council," saying that the aim of convening it in Beirut is to express solidarity and Arab support for the Lebanese people and government against Israeli arrogance.

He added that Abdul Meguid's suggestion concerning convening the Arab summit periodically will be the second item on the ministers' agenda in Beirut.
