A call not to teach Torah in Arab schools in Israel
The chairman of the democratic front for peace and equality bloc in the Israeli Knesset, Mohammad Barakeh, has called on all Arab schools in Israel to refuse the implementation of the official learning law approved on Tuesday by the Knesset.
The newly-enacted law makes it compulsory for Arab students to learn the Torah and the Zionist heritage.
The Hebrew language Israeli radio said on Wednesday that the new law makes it imperative on all educational institutions in Israel to teach Zionist curricula aiming at mixing the Torah with the Jewish history in Israel and having the new curricula in this regard an obligatory subject for all Arab and Jewish students.
Worthy mentioning the Israeli school curricula completely ignore the Arab history and prevent any literary or historical subject speak of Arab heritage or history in general with the aim to Judaize Arab education.
