Hariri condemns Israeli breaches at meeting with new French Ambassador
Lebanon-Israel-France, Politics, 10/20/2009
France's new Ambassador to Lebanon Denis Pietton said his country supports the creation of a government very soon to tackle challenges that Lebanon should face and expressed his country's friendship and backing for Lebanon, in a protocol visit to Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri at the start of his diplomatic mission.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister-designate condemned Israel's clear breach of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, by planting spying equipment in Lebanon and detonating them, and urged the international community to put an end to these breaches.
Speaking to reporters at Hariri's residence in Beirut, Ambassador Pietton said he conveyed a message of friendship to Hariri, which the French Foreign Minister will also express when he visits Lebanon next week. He also said Paris has always backed Lebanon and the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He hoped a new government will be formed soon to tackle the challenges that Lebanon should face.
