Iran's foreign minister and his Russian counterpart today met and discussed ways and means of bolstering bilateral ties, results of the recent Caspian states summit in Tehran as well as regional and international affairs.

ranian Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in the meeting referred to positive effects of the Russian president's visit to Iran and the results of the Caspian summit. He remarked that these developments open up ample opportunities for bilateral interactions and also regional and international cooperation.

Mottaki expressed hope that the ideas of both countries' presidents would be realized through constant contacts to the benefit of Iranian and Russian nations.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov who arrived earlier today said that the Russian president's visit to Iran has brought about constructive and positive results and set the stage for making fresh evaluation of both countries' national interests.

Lavrov also said he hoped that the common views and interests of both states would be realized through bilateral visits and contacts.
