Israel has ignored over 1,000 UN resolutions - Syrian envoy

A Syrian official said today said Israel is trying to materialize the UN Security Council's resolution 1559 while it has ignored over 1,000 resolutions issued by that international body.

Addressing a seminar on strategies to counter psychological warfare against the Islamic resistance, held in Tehran, Syra's ambassador to Tehran Hamed Hassan added that the US has made use of its veto right for more than 100 times in favor of Israel.

As long as occupation continues resistance will continue, he said condemning the recent Isareli atrocities in Lebanon and the occupied territories.

He further voiced Syria's support for the resistance movement of the Palestinian and Lebanese nations.

The ambassadors of Lebanon, Syria and Palestine in Tehran as well as representatives of Hamas and Hizbullah and several experts participated in the one-day seminar.
