Belgian peace activists protest Israeli aggression in Gaza
Israel-Belgium, Politics, 7/7/2006
Several Belgian peace and human rights groups held a demonstration in front of the Belgian Foreign Ministry in Brussels Thursday to protest the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.
"Halt the Israeli aggression in Gaza," said a large banner held by the protestors.
The peace groups distributed a leaflet which expressed their indignation that neither the EU nor Belgium has condemned the Israeli aggression.
The leaflet noted that the Israeli bombing of the PA Prime Minister's office, arrest of Hamas ministers and the violation of Syria's airspace constitute a 'provocation of war'.
The peace activists said Europe cannot continue its double- standard policy towards Israel and called for the cancellation of the EU-Israeli Association Agreement.
Union of Progressive Jews in Belgium, Belgo-Palestinian Association, StopUSA, National Center for Cooperation and Development were among the groups that participated in the demonstration.
