Iraqi Sunni demand 25 members in the Iraqi constitution committee

The representatives for the Iraqi Sunni called for having 25 seats in the Iraqi constitution formulation committee of the 55 seats and to have the right to vote even if they are not elected parliamentarians in the Iraqi parliament.

They threatened to boycott the work of the committee if it does not respond to their demands.

Some 150 representatives for the Sunnis held a meeting in Baghdad in order to study their role in formulating the constitution, which the director of the Sunni Waqf, Adnan al-Duleimi, said it should guarantee the unity of Iraq and its Arab affiliation, with the emphasis that Islam is the religion of the state and the constitution not to include anything violating it.
