Jaafari cling to the role of the coalition forces in Iraq
The Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari defended the role of the coalition forces led by the USA in Iraq, stressing that the presence of these forces is linked to security needs.
But al-Jaafari stressed upon introducing his government's program before the parliament on the importance of supporting the Iraqi security forces in order to accelerate the pull out of the multi national forces from Iraq.
The government's program which was submitted by al-Jaafari included plans on security, political and services issues, forming committees concerned basically with supporting the formulation of the constitution and integrating those who he had described as "misled" in the political life.
Al-Jaafari said that his programs aim at building a federal democratic Iraq in the context of honoring human rights, and public freedoms, to removing religious and political discrimination and honoring the Islamic identity of the Iraqi people.
