Rice: No evidences on transfer of mass destruction weapons from Iraq to Syria

The White House announced that it has no confidential evidence on transfer of mass destruction weapons from Iraq to Syria by the beginning of 2003, prior to the toppling the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

US National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice, said in a briefing to journalists in Washington yesterday that any "remark that a thing like that took place will be a serious matter, but I want to be clear: So far we do not have indicators that can be considered authentic and serious that this had taken place."

Rice was referring to reports had stated that Iraq smuggled weapons of mass destruction to Syria before the American war on Iraq. Rice said that the US has dialog with Syria on several issues, including borders with Iraq, and what had happened in the past and that might happen in future. Rice added that the US opposes Syria's support for terrorism, especially Hizbullah and the Hamas movement.
