Al-Assad inaugurates stock market in Istanbul

President Bashar al-Assad and his Wife opened in Istanbul yesterday the official works of the stock market. They were briefed on the history of establishing the stock market and its important role in transforming the Turkish economy from the centrally planed economy to a market economy.

Separately, al-Assad met with Turkish businessmen where the Turkish Minister Foreign Trade spoke about features of the Syrian-Turkish relations in all economic fields which are based on a strong cultural and historical base.

Al-Assad was briefed by the businessmen on proposals for activating the economic relations between the two friendly countries. He gave an explanation about the current process of development in Syria which will prepare the appropriate atmosphere for investment projects in Syria.

"Syria is serious in tackling hindrances, bureaucracy and negative aspects," al-Assad said expressing his trust that the economic relations will witness a big development to the benefit of the Syrian and Turkish interests.
