Al-Attasi forum asks official licensing

The spokesman for al-"Attasi Forum" Habib Issa told the Lebanese daily al-Safir on Thursday that his Forum asked for licensing from the ministry of social affairs and labor in Syria, as a first initiative considering that accepting the application is considered a positive sign.
The request applied by " al-Attasi forum for democratic dialogue" included the forum's general objectives specified in " contribution to deeply enhance Arab culture and to renew it so as to cope with the development of times," and " availing an area for dialogue between the largest segments of social strata on issues of concern to them, discussing the forms of theories and cultural, humanitarian and philosophical phenomenon and preparing the optimum atmosphere to listen to one's view and the other's on various debated issues, defending the Arab identity and culture, open the way to interact with scientific humanitarian culture."
The objective the statement added is as well " confronting all forms of Zionist penetration of the Arab culture and withstanding all forms of normalization and commitment to national principles under various conditions and changes " and contributing to enriching the " contemporary Arab progressive project." The licensing request which is registered under the number 5180 dated April18 at the divan of the Syrian ministry was registered is considered by Issa as a positive initiative in itself..
Meantime, sources at the Syrian ministry of social affairs said that number of civil societies existed in Syria of varies specialties reached 508 societies including 74 cultural societies and 29 scientific ones.
