Al-Attasi forum meeting: a call to organize a formula for political work

The Damascus-based al-Attasi forum has continued its dialogue activities and it held a meeting on Sunday in which intellectuals representing various trends took part.

The forum was held at the house of the late Jamal al-Attasi in al-Mezze quarters in Damascus. It was attended by large number of politicians and intellectuals and the talks were dedicated to highlight al-Attasi's history and the speakers commended his nationalism and political attitude.

Then the seminar was changed into an open dialogue and among the main speakers was Aref Dalila who underlined "the importance of dialogue in order to reach future political and social formula that improve conditions in Syria." Dalila also called for political pluralism in Syria outside the course of the ruling National Progressive Front.

For his part Youssef Salman called for completing the new parties law which regulates the political work formula in Syria.

Fateh Jamous and Othman Abdul Karim ( both are members of the banned revolutionary work party) demanded finding out new formula for political work in Syria that avails all to take part in the political life.

Also Baathists talked in the Forum. They praised the experience of the Late President Hafez al-Assad and the positives realized in Syria under his rule especially at the national and foreign levels.
