Oman promotes legal awareness among administrative leaderships

Minister of State and Governor of Muscat Sayyid Al Mutasim bin Hamoud al Busaidi opened in Muscat today a forum on "The law and society" to increase legal awareness among administrative leaderships to discuss over two days the provisions of the civil code, administrative judiciary, and penal procedures, the official news agency said.

It is being organized by Muscat Municipality in cooperation with OCCI and Sharia and Law College.

Sayyid Said, said "the promulgation of the basic statute of the state marked the start for the introduction of a series of legislation in the country including the recent laws on the judiciary. Law experts from the college of Sharia and Law and OCCI will deliver lectures at the forum on the science of law, the civil code and other legal issues in the Sultanate," ONA reported adding that participants included persons from the walis, deputy walis, judges and Directors General.
