General president for caring about Saudi youths prince Sultan Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz on Sunday in al-Riyadh discussed with the Moroccan minister of youths and sports Ahmad al-Samawi, currently visiting Saudi Arabia, relations between the two countries and means of developing and boosting them. The two officials also discussed developments relating to Morocco's desire to host the world's football finals in the year 2006. The decision made in January to stop all cephalopod fishing activity spans three months from Feb. 1st through April 30, says a release of the maritime fisheries department. The department said the slump in prices was behind the move which will also help cephalopod stocks to replenish and protect bio-diversity. The decision was jointly taken with cephalopod industry in Dakhla and most of high-sea fleet-owners. Go

The Egyptian Ministry of Culture agreed on the establishment of five fairs for Egyptian archeology abroad which focus on Egyptian Coptic art in the Arab World Institute in Paris during May, and later in the French city Agd for three months starting in October. More fairs will be held in the US state of Pennsylvania, in addition to another four US cities starting in March, 2001. The fourth fair, to be held in Germany, is called "Pharaohs that changed the world" between May and November of this year. The fifth fair will exchange with France, Greece and Egypt is called "From Odisios to Cleopatra," as Vienna city specified for Ramses II starting from March of 2001'. Go

Two persons were killed and another eight wounded when a land mine went off while they were trying to dismember it in Saada city, northern Yemen. An official from the Yemeni police said on Sunday that the three victims had carried the mine, which dates back to the year 1992, to a nearby workshop to dismantle it, but its sudden explosion resulted in wounding several persons at the workshop, which was partially destroyed. A source in Egyptian company yesterday that, "The pilot who asked the right of asylum to U.K after his airplane's arrival to London on last Friday will be dismissed form the company and will lose his pension due to his absence of work." Officials in the legal affairs in EgyptAir said that according to article 100 of labor law - a warning will be addressed to the fugitive pilot next Saturday i.e 8 days after his absence to be followed by continuos days to issue the decision of ending his service, adding that the fugitive pilot Hamdi Hanafi lost nearly (150,000) L.E he would have received in case of asking early retirement.
