Syria confiscates Israeli locks
The Jordanian daily al-Arab al-Youm on Sunday quoted the Israeli daily Maariv as saying that the Syrian customs authority has recently confiscated Israeli locks a Jordanian trader tried to bring into Syria.
The Israeli paper said that a Jordanian trader was trying to bring Syria some 500 locks made in Israel into Syria, when Syrian customs inspectors doubted the source of these locks and decided to confiscate them although they do not bear any trademark indicating that they are made in Israel.
Maariv said that these locks are valued at 20,000 Jordanian dinars.
