Seven Kuwaiti parliamentarians form anti-normalization conference
Seven Kuwaiti members of parliament have started to form a committee to prevent the establishment of natural relations between the Arab Gulf states and Israel, even if a peace agreement is reached between Israel and Syria.
Kuwaiti liberal parliament member Abdullah al-Niebari said the seven parliamentarians announced in a statement the establishment of a "people's conference to resist normalization with the Israeli enemy."
He said the "people's conference is a commission under formation, has Kuwait as a headquarters and fights in all parts of the Gulf against the dangers of normalization with Israel."
The statement said that the seven parliamentarians refused "what has been promoted of efforts to open the Gulf region before normalization with the Zionist enemy after reaching a peace agreement between Damascus and Tel Aviv."
They warned against the participation of any member states in the Gulf Cooperation Council (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman) in financing the Syrian - Israeli peace, asserting that the "Israeli side is demanding for withdrawal from the Golan to have US $30 billion and that the GCC has to participate, as part of its contribution in the peace process, in part of this sum. But we refuse that the Zionists or others to decide for us even one step connecting to the future of our relations in any place of this world."
They added, "The Zionist entity aims at achieving three interests in the Gulf: to meet the urgent needs of the Zionist economy for cheap Gulf oil, to open new consumer markets, as well as to work to make the countries of the GCC into political bases."
The statement was undersigned by al-Neibari, Nasser al-Sane, Ahmad Baqer, Abdullah al-Nufeisi, Adnan Abdul Samad, Abdul Razzaq al-Shaeiji and Ismael al-Shatti.
