School principal tried for pupil's death

The principal of a school in Souk El Arba Gharb, near Kenitra, 50 km North of Rabat, is being tried by a local court for grievous body harm leading to the death of a pupil.

Pupil Hicham Hammou, 15, died on December 10 of strokes inflicted on him by the principal. Hammou's death sparked a series of protest movements in the city.
