Bait Mal Al-Quds executive board meets after Ramadan
The executive board of the "Bait Mal Al-Quds" will meet after the fasting month of Ramadan, said Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), secretary of the PLO executive committee.
The meeting will discuss means to diversify the fund's resources and to implement the measures already agreed upon by the member countries, Abu Mazen told a Moroccan daily.
The fund, headed by the Palestinian ambassador to Morocco, Abu Marwane, was set up at the initiative of late King Hassan II, during the 10th session of the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Committee, held in Morocco in 1995.
The activation of the fund will undoubtedly serve the holy city, said Abu Mazen, who voiced optimism as to the future role the fund will play in favor of the Palestinian people and its contribution to the economic and social projects in Al-Quds.
Abu Mazen visited Morocco last week and was received by King Mohammed VI.
He said that he informed the king on the latest developments in the Middle East, "marked by a continuous Israeli intransigence, especially regarding the issue of settlements."
He added that his talks with the king also covered the Bait Mal Al-Quds and the Syrian and Lebanese tracks of the peace process.
