Iraq: We reject any decision that does not lift sanction on Baghdad
Iraqi Information Minister Humam Abd al-Khaliq Abd al-Ghafur stated sured that Iraq will deal with any decision that does not lift up the sanctions permanently.
In press statements published in the Egyptian al-Ahram newspaper today, he said Iraq's non-cooperation is not out of stubbornness’ but because the UN has nothing that calls for lifting or even suspending the sanctions, even with the return of the former weapons inspection committee under another name.
He added that agreeing to the the current resolutions being recommended would in effect return Iraq to the colonization trusteeship era.
He said that in case of issuing a resolution from the UN Security Council that fulfills the minimum requirements of Iraqi demands, Baghdad will accept it.
