Emergency plan in Jordan to confront water crisis
Jordanian Minister of Water and Irrigation Kamal Mahadin said yesterday that Jordan has begun preparing an emergency plan to confront the water crisis anticipated during the coming summer as a result of a lack of rains and the discouraging indicators regarding the current winter season.
In the press statement, Mahadin said it is currently difficult to specify the shortage in the volume of water, but he expected the water shortage percentage to increase in the summer comparison to 9% of the current year.
At the same time, the Jordanian minister said that so far, discussions of the lack of rain or agreements on joint steps to confront this crisis have not yet taken place with Israel.
