Libya asks Italy and Germany to bring back missing parts of Venus statue
Colonel Moammar Gaddafi, leader of the Libyan revolution, said his country will ask for the missing parts from a statue of Venus, goddess of beauty, which was delivered by Italian Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema to Libya recently.
During his visit to the museums in Tripoli while accompanied by President Gen. Gnassingbe Eyadema of Togo and Ange Patasse of the Central African Republic, he said, "Libya will ask the German and Italian governments of the missed parts of the statue," denouncing during the tour that some parts of the statue are missing, saying, "These strange behaviors are barbarian."
Gaddafi said, "This is the beginning of giving back the stolen things, and we hope it not only for Libya but for the whole countries of the third world."
