Abdul Meguid heads to Abu Dhabi
Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid is heading from Qatar to the United Arab Emirates for a two-day visit to Abu Dhabi.
Abdul Meguid is to meet with UAE President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan and high-ranking officials to discuss current conditions, especially developments regarding the three Gulf islands occupied by Iran, the cause of peace in the Middle East and the situations in Sudan, Somalia and Iraq.
The Arab League has a stricter stance than the Gulf Cooperation Council toward the issue of the disputed islands, as the AL has issued many decisions that emphasize the importance of Iran's complete withdrawal from the three islands.
