Islamic delegation to visit Moscow to discuss Chechen crisis
Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said that he would head to Russia on Monday, heading an Islamic delegation to hold talks concerning the conflict in Chechnya.
Kharazi will be accompanied by representatives from countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, whose current session is headed by Iran.
In a press conference held yesterday, the Iranian minister said the Islamic world feels anxiety because of the crisis and the blood it shed. He said it is natural that the OIC feels it must do a lot to prevent bloodshed.
Kharazi depicted his visit to Moscow as important for checking positions, adding, "We do not try to mediate, yet we first want to get information, then we think of solving the crisis."
