Employment minister meets RAM staff delegates

Originally published

Employment Minister Khalid Alioua met in Rabat Wednesday staff delegates of the national airline, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), to look into personnel social claims in a bid to prevent further strikes.

Ground and flying staff observed a 24-hour stoppage starting early Wednesday to protest inadequate management, lack of response to grievances and total absence of genuine dialogue.

After scrutiny of major claims, Alioua said the government is braced to provide the right framework to reach by next week a negotiated settlement acceptable to both management and social partners.

On Nov 30, RAM personnel had staged the first warning strike that elicited a press-release by the hierarchy distorting facts and rejecting concertation, says a communique of unions involved.
