Urgent meeting in Arab League today
The permanent delegates to the Arab League are convening an urgent meeting today at Arab League headquarter under the chairmanship of AL Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid to consult over the latest developments in Sudan in light of the regional and Arab efforts exerted to achieve national rapport in Sudan.
AL Assistant Secretary General for Arab Affairs Ahmed Bin Hali said, "The meeting comes as an implementation of the assignments of the league's council on the level of Arab foreign ministers in its last session to the secretary general to follow up the developments in Sudan."
He added that Abdul Meguid presented a detailed report regarding the developments in Sudan and the efforts to achieve national rapport, especially after the US official declaration of presenting support to southern Sudan.
