Britain to reopen its embassy in Algeria
The Algerian daily al-Bilad said on Wednesday that Britain is preparing to reopen its embassy in Algeria, in the presence of British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Peter Hain.
The Algerian daily added that Algerian-British economic relations have witnessed great progress, especially in the area of oil investment.
Meanwhile, the Algerian daily al-Youm said in its Wednesday issue that President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will announce the formation of the new government before the end of this year, as he promised and will keep current Prime Minister Smail Hamdani, but with great amendments to the majority of the ministries.
The paper added that President Bouteflika is inclined towards minimizing the number of ministries, with the establishment of ministries of state that are attached to the presidency, on top of which he will appoint figures to carry out the role of consultants for him. They are five consultants who will be in charge of the main security, economic, diplomatic and media files.
