King Mohammed VI on Tuesday laid down the foundation stone for a project to supply drinking water to two localities near the northern city of Tangiers.

The $1.56 million project will meet the needs in potable water for 3,500 inhabitants in Ksar Sghir and Ksar Majaz.

The population will start receiving drinking water as of the end of December, 2000.
