Military cooperation between Cyprus and Israel

Cypriot Defense Minister Socrates Hasikos said yesterday that his country and Israel are preparing to sign an agreement for military cooperation.

Egyptian diplomatic sources stated that the Cypriot minister announced this agreement in a speech he delivered before the defense affairs committee in the Cypriot Parliament.

The Egyptian sources expected that the meeting will comprise fields of military training and exchanging data and that Cyprus aims through this meeting to confront the military alliance signed between Turkey and Israel.

The Israeli embassy in Cairo refused to comment on this news to ArabicNews.com.
