Lebanese operation in retaliation for Israeli bombardment
The Lebanese resistance on Wednesday attacked an Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army militia engineering unit while carrying out fortification works inside a joint Israeli-SLA militia position in al-Muheisbat in the central section of south Lebanon.
In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said direct hits were scored among the members of the Israeli force and in the fortifications of the position.
Moreover, Lebanese security sources reported that one SLA militia member was wounded in the operation carried out by the Lebanese resistance against the position.
Further reports from south Lebanon said the Israeli occupation forces bombarded al-Jabal al-Rafee, the woods of Sujoud and al-Rayhan, Aqmata farm and the area situated between Arab Salim and Houmin al-Fawqa in al-Tuffah district, adjoining the occupied part of south Lebanon.
Lebanese security forces said the shelling was accompanied by heavy machine gun fire targeting mountainous roads which link al-Tuffah district to the occupied part of south Lebanon.
On Wednesday morning the Israeli forces attacked the suburbs of al-Mansouri and Heneh in south Lebanon.
Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli gunboats also opened fire at the southern coast of Tyre.
On Tuesday night, the Israeli forces escalated their attacks on the southern and western parts of the Bekaa area, as Israeli warplanes carried out intensive sorties that were fired on by Lebanese Army and resistance antiaircraft guns.
