Spain authorizes entry of 1,000 Moroccan seasonal workers

The Spanish government has decided to authorize the entry of around 1,000 Moroccan seasonal workers for a nine-month period under an agreement signed by the two countries, reports Spanish news agency "EFE."

Spanish Employment and Social Affairs Minister Manuel Pimentel said the initiative means to reduce illegal immigration.

He stated that the workers, whose transport fees will be paid by the government and the employers, will enjoy decent lodging, work contract and social welfare services.
