Originally published

Morocco will organize early January in London an exhibition dubbed "Morocco 2000" to promote partnership and consolidate trade exchanges and investment between the two countries.

The event, a key move in Moroccan promotion abroad, was discussed Monday by trade and industry minister Alami Tazi and ambassador Anthony Layden.

Industrial and handicraft products will be displayed and investment opportunities for British entrepreneurs will be made available by the Moroccan Export Promotion Center(CMPE), the Industrial Development Office (ODI), the Handicraft House and the Moroccan subcontracting market.

British investments in 1998 totaled a mere 183 million DHS while they had reached 315 million DHS in 1997 and 839 million DHS in 1996.

In 1998, overall trade exchanges reached $ 380 million.
