Moroccan haute couture in Paris
Princess Lalla Hasna, sister of King Mohammed VI, attended sunday the presentation of Moroccan haute couture's latest creations on the Louvre Carrousel catwalk, held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI and President Jacques Chirac.
The event, a world premiere for Moroccan designers, is part of the week-long presentation of Paris' 2000 women ready-to-wear collections.
Dior, gaultier, Scherrer, Balmain, St Laurent and others were under the spell of Moroccan fashion products by young and confirmed designers. Traditional costumes and gowns fascinated an audience of connoisseurs with a unique subtle blending of a centuries-old culture and modern design.
