New explosion in Sudan
The Sudanese al-Rai al-Am newspaper said yesterday that two explosions rocked an oil container and a station of Benzene belonging to the Shell company in the town of Kasala on the border with Eritrea.
The newspaper quoted Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamed, Kasala's governor, as saying the security authorities in the state controlled the explosions without any damage. He blamed the opposition Ummah Party headed by Sadeq El-Mahdi, who lives abroad, for the explosions that happened on Monday and said that party's logo was found at one of the two sites.
Moreover he warned that the government will repel any attack launched by the rebels, accusing the revolutionaries of the Sudan Liberation Army of mobilizing their forces on the Sudanese - Eritrean borders, saying that these operations show that Sudan is targeted by Eritrea, and these activities of Eritrea are considered a violation of the reconciliation accord which was signed by the two countries in Doha, Qatar in May.
