Al-Sharaa underwent successful heart surgery

Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa was admitted to the hospital of the American University in Beirut after having a health trouble. At the hospital, the Syrian FM was submitted to physical check-ups as a preliminary step toward having heart surgery. Lebanese Health Minister Karam Karam said on Monday after visiting al-Sharaa in hospital that al-Sharaa had successful open-heart surgery at 7 p.m. Monday, and he was then taken to the intensive care unit. The BBC correspondent in Beirut said today that President Hafez al-Assad and his son Bashar are following up the health conditions of the Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara, in their telephone calls with Beirut.. SANA added in this regard that Lebanese medical source said Tuesday that health conditions of the Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara is stable.
