Jerusalem Mufti demands that Israel not use Islamic holy places for propaganda

Originally published

Jerusalem's Mufti, Ekrema Sabri, called for destroying bottles of wine and not placing photographs of Jerusalem on any propaganda prohibited by Islamic legislation, whether for wine or other things, blaming the Israeli government for what happens if it allows the Baron company which manufactures wine bottles using a label featuring a photo of the holy city including Al Aqsa mosque and the holy El-Skara dome in the middle of the bottles, as well as it begin marketing it in the foreign and local markets.

He stated that, "This clarifies the recklessness of the Israeli government in handling the holiness of the city and feelings of Moslems all over the world, because Jerusalem is beyond being exploited for cheap propaganda."

He said that Israeli policy aims at erasing the traditional Islamic characteristics of the city, considering the spread of these bottles as giving the impression of Jerusalem being a Jewish city.
