USA agrees to lift embargo on PLO activities inside its lands
US and Palestinian officials have reached an agreement that calls for lifting the restrictions imposed on the activities of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) inside the USA.
Zohdi Al-Kedra, the Palestinian ambassador to Cairo, told ArabicNews.com that a Palestinian delegation under the chairmanship of Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nabil Shaath and a US delegation have reached an agreement, saying, "This agreement will be presented to the US Congress during the coming month for approval."
He added, "The obstacle which faced the PLO's activities inside the USA was the law which considered the PLO a terrorist organization, with which dealing was prohibited" and that this stood in the way of developing bilateral relations.
