Syria newly confirms adherence to peace

Abdullah al-Ahmar, the assistant secretary general for the Syrian Arab Socialist Baath Party asserted "Syria's adherence to peace as a strategic choice, and its serious efforts that the peace process reaches its goals in achieving the comprehensive and just peace based on international legitimacy resolutions and the land-for-peace principle."

During his meeting yesterday with Serjio Bitar, a member of the Chilean Senate's council who arrived yesterday in Damascus, al-Ahmar said the desired peace is the one that includes liberating the occupied Arab land in the Syrian Golan to the borders of June 4, 1967, from south Lebanon and restoring the usurped Arab rights fully.
