Jordanian official reveals reasons for recent measures against Hamas

Quoting a high-ranking Jordanian official, the Egyptian Al-Ahram newspaper reported today the details of the reasons which made the Jordanian government takes its recent measures against the Hamas resistance movement.

The Jordanian official said, Hamas, which exists in Jordan has coordinated with leaders of Hizbullah and the People's Front and Iranian officials to hold security and military session for elements from Hamas inside these organizations' special camps and send these elements through Jordan in 1998 and 1999.

He added that some Jordanian citizens were recruited, especially from the universities students circles to work with Hamas in and outside the area, as well as sending them to receive intensive security and military training in the fields of Hamas foreign work, especially in Iran, including sessions on forgery and falsification of documents, passports, code and communications.
