King Mohammed donates carpets to al-Aqsa mosque
The Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holy shrine of Islam, will be donated a batch of Moroccan carpets at the initiative of King Mohammed VI, Palestinian sources here were quoted by a local daily as saying.
Through this initiative, King Mohammed VI, is following the path traced by his late father, king Hassan II, for the defense of the Al-Quds as the capital of the Palestinian independent state, the palestinian source said.
King Mohammed VI is chairman of the al-Quds committee, stemming from the Organization of islamic Conference (OIC).
The committee, set up in 1975, seeks to draw up a global plan for the liberation of the holy city and undertake all the needed measures to fight Israeli endeavors to alter its demography and history.
In addition to Palestine, the committee gathers fifteen Arab and non-Arab Islamic countries.
