Morocco calls for Arab summit
Morocco called on Sunday for the holding of an Arab summit as soon as possible.
The call was made by the Moroccan minister in charge of the Arab world and the Maghreb, Abdeslam Znined, who represents Morocco in the meetings of the Arab League Council.
The holding of the summit has become a necessity, although it requires a sound preparation to reach the expected results, Znined said.
"We will work together to clear the Arab climate to pave the way for the holding of the summit as soon as possible," he added.
Several Arab states have been calling for the holding of an Arab summit to reconcile Arabs and overcome the problems that arose following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
The Cairo meetings of the Arab League Council are chaired by Iraq.
