Originally published

The Israeli government began today to free 350 Palestinian prisoners, according to the Wye River agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh, in the attendance of US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdullah Bin Hussein on the first of the current week.

Israeli security sources said that the first group includes 200 prisoners, who left Shakmia prison in southern Israel in a convoy.

None of those who are accused of killing Israelis or being affiliated with the Islamic Jihad or Hamas movement were among the released prisoners.
