Iraq - US no-fly zone clashes resume
The US European Command said today that Iraq fired anti-aircraft artillery at jets patrolling the northern Iraq "no-fly zone" from sites north of Ba'ashiqah and Tali Kayif. The aircraft responded by attacking "a surface-to-air missile (SAM) support site west of the city of Mosul" inside the "no-fly zone."
The US Central Command added that US and British jets in the southern Iraq "no-fly zone" attacked "Anti-Aircraft Artillery sites in southern Iraq near the cities of Tallil, Al Basrah and As Samawah" in response to anti-aircraft artillery fire over the past few days.
