Iraq, Vietnam seek economic cooperation
In light of the sixth phase of the oil-for-food program, the value of the contracts ratified between Iraq and Vietnam amounted to $100 million.
Vietnam's ambassador in Baghdad, Nagwien Kwang Khay Fi, announced in a press statement that these contracts include importing foodstuffs, cleaning supplies, industrial equipment, spare automobile parts, electric generators, and passenger cars.
Kwang added there are currently negotiations between the two countries to develop one of the Iraqi petroleum fields, and enhance agriculture in the area of rice, sugar and soybeans.
He added out that his country would take part in the coming session of the Baghdad International Fair, where it will present models of its industries in different fields.
The ambassador confirmed that his country calls for lifting sanctions from Iraq and abolishing the two no-fly zones imposed by the USA and Britain on northern and southern Iraq.
