Barak's talks with Arafat on the telephone

Originally published

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak has made a telephone call to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. They discussed issues of controversy between the two sides which prevent reaching an agreement.

Israel Radio said that Barak announced during a meeting for the foreign relations and security committee at the Israeli Knesset that within the two coming days it will be revealed whether a memorandum of understanding will be signed with the Palestinians. Barak claimed that this matter is linked to the Palestinians' response to the Israeli proposals.
