Mauritanian Imams contribute to anti-AIDS campaign
Several Mauritanian Imams are taking part in a campaign launched early this week to raise the public awareness about the danger of AIDS. The campaign, organized in collaboration with the Health and Islamic Affairs departments, uses the prominence of the religious leaders as an efficient tool in the fight against the killer disease.
The Imams use their Friday sermons to spread the awareness message about the seriousness and hazards of AIDS.
