German program to support Egyptian exports to European markets

Originally published

The Arab - German Chamber of Trade and Industry in Cairo set up a program to support and upgrade Egyptian exports through increasing their competitive ability and the ability of Egyptian products to reach the European markets in general and the German markets specifically.

The executive manager of the chamber, Peter Goenfrich, said this program coincides with the increasing concern of the Egyptian government with increasing exports to reduce the deficit in its trade balance with most countries.

Goenfrich said the program focuses on several pivots, the most important of which is "Expand Program," the chamber's initiative to promote and upgrade Egyptian exports, aimed at increasing Egyptian exports to the German market, considering it one of the largest European markets whose imports are valued at nearly $463 million annually.

The effort will include data and information about the German market and the most important products that have a chance to compete in this market.

Goenfrich added that the chamber is going to establish a data bank to serve Egyptian exports to present to them the necessary data about importers and means of communicating with them to reach deals.

Meanwhile, the chamber presents help in drafting marketing plans and the necessary facilities to take part in German fairs, considering these to be important methods of promoting Egyptian products as well as presenting Egyptian products by the means of the chamber's page on the Internet.
