Lebanese source denied Albright's visit to Beirut

A Lebanese source denied that US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said she would visit Lebanon.

The source told ArabicNews.com today that the US administration didn't inform the Lebanese government about this visit, but he didn't rule out the idea of the visit away and it being a surprise, saying that there are security fears that make the US administration unwilling to announce a time of the visit or to inform Lebanon of it now.

The source said that Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss will meet with Albright on the sidelines of the meetings of the UN General Assembly in the coming month.

The sources said that the U.S. is not in a hurry to speed up the Lebanese track.
